New Challenge.
About this challenge:
"If you have been follow the previews challenges, you could have been notice that electronic prototypes and developments, had been fews or none lately, due to constant travels between stations, so this design came to resolve what i suppose should be a problem for developers constantly".
Mission objective:
Make a portable workstation.
Description:
Putting the most important tools inside a case to travel everywere in a safe way.
Work:
One of the first problems to assemble this solution is the choice that you need to take, in order to schoose the tools that you will need, and there is no easy decision, there are many reasonable answers to that question.
So in this point i can think two different perspectives, in the first one we decide to choose the tools in order to make a specific work.
By the other hand we can choose the tools thinking in a more general solution and this is the way i decide to build this workstation, but even taking that choice, some kind of experience is needed to ensure that we will have what we need on the field.
(I'm actually going to use this project to make prototypes and study MCU's so it's like a combination of specific but general purpose).
So thinking in that essense is why i've made this list. (the first version of it)
Electronic tools:
- Power source
- Protoboard
- Jumper wires
- Welder
- Desoldering
- Solder wire
- Screwdrivers
- Cutter plier
- Wire stripping plier
Meassuring instruments:
- Vernier caliper
- Multitester
Electronic Components:
- Resistances
- Capacitors
- Integrated circuits
- Led Lights
- Transistors
- Microswitches
- Circuit boards
Some other characterstics to add or be aware in the time you choose your bag is to think on the protection you need, depending on the place you will work, those environmental factors like dust, water, fire, vibrations or anything that you can imagine.

Attempt
After the tools and the box has been chosen, the assortment will be the next step to accomplish and they are also many options that will do this in order to padding them tight but also to divide the space in layers.
In order to manage this space in layers i am thinking how to do this, then i need in ligth but rigid meterial to hold all in place.
My first option was to use different layers of foam, but may we need different types of materials when design the inside of the box.
I decided to make the two most important areas as workstation itself, then to make the deeper side of it as compartment to hold other tools.
Has i said before, there are many ways of doing this, and all depends on your box and the way i have decide is depending on what i have, and what materials i can get.
Steps to follow from here:
- Tools assortment
- Meassure tools dimmensions and shape
- Choose padding material
