Required tools for running our ESP32 (Hardware and software)
« on: April 06, 2018, 08:14:01 PM »
List of tools to run ESP32
What we would need to program our ESP32 chip?

- Warning this items are useful when you have an ESP32 development board like "ESP32 DevkitC from Esspresif Systems or compatible"
(for other vendors, please refer to their own instructions unless you have a compatible board).

- That being said this are the hardware and software elements we would need to program our ESP32 development board in Windows operative systems.

  • The ESP32 Toolchain & API's (ESP-IDF) Software
  • ESP32 development board like ESP32 DevkitC or compatible Hardware
  • USB standard cable with microUSB terminal plus cable driver Hardware & software
  • Driver for the UART to USB interface on our ESP32 development board Software
  • A text editor Software

Find how to Install ESP32 Toolchain and APIs in the link below.

List of tools to run ESP32
Checking tools to run the ESP32 development board

Once we have all of the components listed above then we are ready to proceed flashing an application to the ESP32 development board.

But first we need to check that all the components are ready to work, so if we already installed the Toolchain & API's software then we need to install the USB cable drivers to our computer.
